no, you get it. that’s part of what i’m trying to write, that people are fighting over something without value, which kinda compounds the indignity of her failure. it’s like keystone cops, but with a rotten head.
Hm. The head was severed by a laser, right? So maybe it cauterized some of the blood-tubes. Probably not the large ones, but maybe enough to keep at least some of the oxygen-bearing fluid inside the brain. Then not all cells need to die. The outer ones, probably.
Whatever loses the most blood is gone, but deep inside, where the blood couldn’t get away, the oxygen transfer should still work.
Definitely no consciousness anymore – but I wouldn’t be surprised if the brain itself could still be restarted. In their universe or ours.
It would be interesting to see WHAT emerges then. How much of the original personality could still be alive, and how would it be changed? Brain damage is interesting – to read about. Preferably someone far away from you. (Read the wiki entry on Phineas Gage. Interesting stuff.)
Off-topic, and on-comic: I like it. So far, the only thing I don’t like are the loading times. I wait longer for the next page than it takes me to read it. (A small price to pay for a good comic, and time worth spending, of course.)
i know all about phineas gage. that was an interesting case study for people of the time to have to realize that your personality was actually in your brain, and could be altered and damaged as such.
glad you’re enjoying the comic! keep reading! as for the slow load pages, i don’t know how much i can do about that. i’m not much of a web guy, and this is a one man show. i’ll look into it at some point though.
Dark, like a Philip Marlowe novel.
thanks, i’ll take that as a compliment!
okay pardon my confusion but isn’t that head like a couple days without oxygen, and rotting by now?
so hows this going to work? even if the tech for an interface exists… all memory is gone, and neural pathways
are well into decay by now.

thanks for the question, i hope that makes sense!
Grim. Almost Grimm. We likes it!
There is the recent research on pig brains, April of 2019, about their being alive many hours after decapitation …
that’s a depressing thought. imagine you had an itch on your nose! haha
