for sure. it’s a surreal experience, to have your life threatened at a job where you make 4.75/hour. yeah, i was even making less than minimum wage, just to compound the terribleness of the whole situation.
The more I read, the more this world reminds me of the pictures in my head when I was reading Neuromancer, not comparing the stories, just the claustrophobic city with all the tech.
You have the most distinct faces I’ve seen on characters in along time, the expressions are excellent too, subtle, even just showing fatigue.
that’s so nice of you to say! but Gibson might not be as flattered. but he’s an inspiration, to be sure. i really think that the concept of being poor, around so much awesome tech, it resonates with people, given the times.
and thanks re the faces. i really like trying to bring character to my characters. there’s so many interesting looking people, why should art look more generic than reality? thanks for reading!
Ha, nice sign, concise and to the point! XD
haha, funfact, I worked at a convenience store for a bit when I was in high school. I was robbed at gun point 3 times.
Holy crap! Talk about on-the-job experience! Well, at least you’re still here, eh?

Good, well-utilized lingo, though I’m noting the obvious.
“Wash” = “Rotten Gutâ„¢ Triple Wash” = rotgut booze
“Nails” = “coffin nails” = cigarettes
pretty much, yeah. I think part of world building is about creating jargon, but casually, as to not hit the reader over the head with it.
It was hard not to be overly enthusiastic, when it’s so well done, and just BLAAAP write all that out like a fanboy.
haha, that’s cool, enthusiasm in encouraged. if people find the little side things engaging, it’s a definite plus.
