Why the protective shielding stance from the lad in the doorway and not a reaching for firepower? Perhaps he’s losing his balance?
South of your border, tomorrow is election time, and theoretically no one should be voting any later. Perhaps 2-3 months from now we’ll all know a clear result (there’ve been a lot of last minute rules changes – expect many of them to functionally lower turnout by the people who pushed for them, which is pretty ironic – so this should be chaotic – I know too many election lawyers – enough to see them sue their fellows within each party, not just across the aisle – or maybe it’ll be a blowout). Remember that in Canada’s last election, the Tories clearly were the most popular party nationally, and are in opposition. They were, as they always are, pretty calm about it.
That has not, lately, been the American way. Sigh.
their hands don’t work the same way as ours do. the shield arm things make their hands more like clubs. which is why they are always standing there with balled up fists. more or less. no triggers for fingers. though i never made that super clear, i suppose.
i don’t know if it’s fair to say the PCs were clearly the most popular party. they lost, so that doesn’t really hold up. but it’s also important to remember that the PCs are the only party that represents the more conservative end of the political spectrum, whereas the liberals and the ndp share the votes for the more left leaning canadians. people are becoming fed up with the liberals, but that might just provide more of a toe hold for the ndp. in our last election the ndp might have done better, if not for the people voting liberal for safety. our conservative party doesn’t seem as far right as the GOP does, but the US is shifting the dialogue in that direction here, and we see it. we have a new sort of trump flavoured rhetoric coming from some of our people, and our news certainly covers american politics heavily. so, where you go, we follow a few years behind, to some degree.
i think waiting to count all votes makes sense. covid has complicated every aspect of life lately, why not that one? i know that people have become more aware of election law than they ever wanted to be, and that’s sad. the one person one vote simplicity should work on in a fundamental way, but it’s like watching a game where people argue every minuscule rule to the point where the original intent is lost, and it comes down to who bullshits the best. yay, democracy….

Terminator robo-meat-puppets are inside.
Welp. Looks like the cast of characters is about to shrink a bit.
i’m eager to subvert expectations. i’m rewriting the next few chapters! guess i got some drawing to do….
