I don’t have any idea why but I really like the way the conversation flows here. I think it’s something about how the panels timed it or … I don’t know. I was just struck (after reading it) with how much it felt like exactly how that conversation would flow (particularly the last two panels, where he’s surprised, it’s like you can hear exactly how that exchange would go).
I’m expressing this clumsily. Sometimes you have to read a comic, then go back and put it together in your head but with the timing after you realize how it was meant–particularly when characters are interrupting each other. This just does it perfectly, I guess, is what I’m saying, enough that I noticed it being smooth after I read it.
Oh well, we’ve established that I can’t even do it in prose :).
[BTW canister only has one n. I have no idea why, it seems like a two-n situation.]
wow, you’re right. i must have been spelling it like for a while. even now it still looks weird to me with one n. well, rather than go back to every page where i spelled it wrong, and change it, i’ll just pretend it’s a brand name. ‘Cannister brand canisters, when you don’t want head goo leaking everywhere….’
but thanks for mentioning it. and i’m glad you like the conversational flow. it’s something i want to make sure i get right, so i’m glad it’s landing. but i had no idea how much of a challenge it was before i started this whole thing. i have a new respect for writers, that’s for sure.
Nice save on Cannister. Registered Trademark is the way to go.
haha, yeah, if you can’t spell, cheat.
