Been thinking about this and I have a theory – the hostage isn’t who Seagull thinks she is. Either a maid or the like or Gretchen’s daughter. For whatever reason, I like the idea that she’s Gretchen’s daughter.

that is true. 2 different storylines, both with severe women, trying to retrieve someone. a bit of confusion is understandable.
Nuts, my mistake. I did confuse them. Now I can’t use that joke in the future. :(
