I’m increasingly warming to Gibson, and i kind of liked him anyway. He’ll be the worst of them all at some point, won’t he?
This really reminds me of the John Cusack, Angelican Huston, Anette Benning film, Grifters (no major character can be sure of living until the end – watch it for that alone – it was Game of Thrones before Game of Thrones). Not the whole series, but this scene, with the charming con-man.
he’s hard to write for. it’s hard to turn on smarmy charm, and not have it seem like someone manipulative. but it’s funny you say that about the grifters. i LOVE that movie. it’s one of the few 80s noir movies that came out around that time that i feel had the old school vibe. i didn’t really think about that comparison before, but i’m sure there’s something subconscious at work there.

Owen needs to bring Gibson on as his agent. I’m sure that would end well
nothing ends well in this world.
The situations you create are always so original, unexpected and stylish. I love your work.
well thanks for saying so! i work really hard to keep it fresh, so that’s nice to hear!
